meet dug.

He’s our founder’s dog and the inspiration behind Golden State Psychiatric Nursing Services.

When our founder and nurse practitioner, Dr. Kate Magsino, was diagnosed with depression,
dug helped her.

Although a nurse herself, Kate found herself waiting three months to see a psychiatrist and over six months for a therapist.
During those months, Dug helped Kate cope with her depression.
Kate knew that people couldn’t be left suffering alone through a psychiatric illness without any treatment.
But she also saw how few providers were willing to write ESA letters and the companies that did issue ESA letters were run like businesses, not medical practices.
That’s why she founded Golden State Psychiatric Nursing Services—to help bridge the gap between illness and care and make the ESA process more personal.

*Disclaimer: ESAs are an adjunct to care and are not meant to replace regular psychiatric treatment. Dr. Magsino recommends following up with a psychiatric provider for medications and/or therapy.
